These Terms explain free and paid reading, your caregiver account, Apple subscriptions, offline access and your rights. The agreement is with the adult caregiver. Purchases, premium browsing and account controls belong in the adult area behind the Parent gate.

1 About these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Toddle mobile application, its stories, illustrations, narration, interactive features, offline downloads and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Toddle Learning Ltd ("Toddle Learning", "we", "us" or "our").

By downloading, accessing or using the Service, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled. Accepting these Terms does not provide consent for optional data processing. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Mandatory store terms also apply to the relevant purchase or download.

2 Who may use Toddle

Toddle is designed for children aged 3 years and older, but the account, purchases and legal relationship are with an adult caregiver. To create or operate a caregiver account or purchase a subscription, you must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement in your country. Children do not create accounts.

You are responsible for supervising a child’s use of Toddle, deciding whether particular stories and features are suitable, and keeping adult-area and device-purchase controls secure. The Parent gate asks the user to put numbers in order. It is a practical barrier for young children, not an identity or age check, verified parental consent, or a guarantee that a child can never enter the adult area.

3 What Toddle provides

Toddle provides interactive stories for shared reading and conversation, with Read to Me narration and Read Together modes. The Service is offered in English on iOS in the countries and regions where it is available through the App Store. Toddle is an enrichment product, not a school, childcare service, diagnostic tool, therapy service or substitute for professional educational, medical or mental-health advice.

The app includes three complete, permanently free stories, one at each Story level. They are bundled with the app and can be read without an account, subscription or internet connection. A Story level describes the comprehension and participation a story asks of the reader; it is not a child’s age or an assessment of ability. The caregiver chooses the Selected level for that installation.

An active subscription gives access to the full current premium catalog and future premium stories made available in the Service, without separate story purchases. We do not promise a fixed number of new stories or a publication timetable. Further free stories may be made available to download in the future. We do not promise any particular free release or release schedule. Android availability and additional languages are not included in the launch offering. The premium catalog and purchase terms are available in the adult area before purchase.

4 Caregiver accounts

You can use the bundled free stories without signing in. To subscribe, sign in using Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google to create or connect a Toddle caregiver account. The account carries subscription access across supported devices; it does not synchronize reading history, downloads, settings or the Selected level. Children do not create profiles, and there are no linked caregiver accounts or family invitations at launch.

You must use your own sign-in credentials, keep access to your device and provider account secure, and notify us promptly at hello@toddlelearning.app if you believe the account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through the account unless the law provides otherwise.

One subscribed Toddle account may be used on compatible devices you own or control for your household, including a device using a different Apple account. Sign into the same Toddle account to receive its verified access. Billing and cancellation remain with the Apple account that originally paid. This does not transfer the Apple purchase or promise an Android subscription at launch.

5 Household content access

These service terms cover story content, accounts and subscriptions. The licence to the iOS application is Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms do not replace or amend that app licence.

Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may access Toddle stories for private, non-commercial household use through the app on supported devices. You may read together and use the narration and interactive features provided. This permission does not transfer ownership of any story, illustration, recording, music or character.

6 Offline downloads

The three bundled free stories are available offline immediately and cannot be removed through downloaded-story management. Premium stories must be downloaded in the app before offline reading. Downloads are licensed, not sold, and may be accessed only through Toddle on supported devices for private, non-commercial household use.

A downloaded premium story can be started offline until the earlier of 30 days after the last successful subscription verification and the end of the last verified paid subscription period. A renewal that happens while the device is offline may require reconnection before access can be refreshed. A failed verification does not extend this period. Cancelling renewal does not by itself end access before the paid-through date. Signing out, account deletion, expiry or confirmed refund or revocation can end permission to start another premium story.

An already-running story may finish when access ends. Returning to that same session after backgrounding is allowed, but reopening a story or relaunching the app requires valid access. Downloaded files and local progress are retained after sign-out or expiry and can be removed through download management. Retaining a file does not preserve premium permission. Removing the app can remove local downloads and progress. You must not extract, redistribute, sell or circumvent protection of content except where applicable law expressly allows it.

7 Acceptable use

You must use Toddle lawfully and only for its intended personal reading purpose. You must not:

  • copy, reproduce, record, publish, broadcast, distribute, sell or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our written permission;
  • sell, lend or transfer your Toddle account or subscription to another account, or share access outside the private household use permitted by these Terms;
  • bypass the Parent gate, paywall, access controls, content protections or security measures;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, scrape or attempt to obtain source code, except to the limited extent the law does not allow that restriction;
  • use automated systems to access the Service or interfere with its operation, networks or other users; or
  • use Toddle or its content in a way that is unlawful, harmful, misleading or infringes another person's rights.

Schools, nurseries, libraries, clubs and other organisations require our written permission or a separate organisational licence unless we expressly state otherwise.

8 Premium subscriptions

Purchase and platform

Launch subscriptions are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase on iOS. Apple processes payments under its own terms. The price, currency, taxes, billing period and premium benefits displayed on Apple’s purchase screen form the particular offer you accept. We offer monthly and annual plans; prices and currencies may differ by market. Review the full charge rather than only a monthly equivalent of an annual price.

Access follows your Toddle account

An active subscription unlocks supported devices signed into the same Toddle account. Payments remain managed through the original purchasing Apple account. There is no separate Android subscription offering at launch.

Monthly and annual renewal

A monthly or annual subscription renews automatically at the end of its billing period until cancelled. Apple charges the Apple account used for the original purchase in accordance with the displayed offer, Apple’s rules and applicable law. Access is granted after the purchase and entitlement are verified. A cancelled purchase attempt or a payment awaiting approval does not create new premium access.

Trials and promotional offers

No free trial or introductory offer is included at launch. The bundled free stories let families try the reading experience without a subscription. Any future offer will be described separately before purchase, including eligibility, duration, charges and renewal terms.

Managing and cancelling

Manage or cancel your subscription through the Apple account used for the original purchase. The Manage Subscription control in the adult area opens Apple’s subscription-management service. Cancelling renewal normally leaves premium access available through the end of the current paid period, subject to a refund, revocation, Apple’s rules and applicable law.

Account deletion does not cancel billing

Deleting the app or Toddle account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Use Apple’s subscription management if you want future renewal to stop. You can still delete your Toddle account immediately.

Restoring purchases

Restore Purchases lets you recover eligible existing access without buying another subscription. While the original Toddle caregiver account exists, the purchase remains attached to that account. If you restore while signed into a different Toddle account, recover the original account rather than expecting an automatic transfer. We do not disclose another account holder’s personal details during recovery. Restoration itself does not create another subscription charge. Restoration to a new Toddle account after deleting the original account is not guaranteed. Contact hello@toddlelearning.app for access problems before purchasing again.

Refunds and billing issues

Apple generally handles refund requests and payment disputes under its policies and the law of your country. Contact us if the issue concerns Toddle access or content. We do not receive complete payment-card details and may be unable to issue an Apple refund directly. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cooling-off, repair, replacement, price-reduction or cancellation right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Price or subscription changes

Prices may vary by country and may change. Any change affecting an existing subscription will be handled with the notice, consent and cancellation options required by the applicable store and law. If we materially reduce or discontinue paid benefits, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected subscribers and provide any remedy required by law.

9 Intellectual property

Toddle Learning and its licensors own all rights in the Service, including its software, stories, text, illustrations, animation, narration, music, sound, characters, branding, trade marks and visual design. Except for the household content access described in these Terms and the rights under Apple’s separate app licence, no rights are granted to you.

If you send feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without payment or obligation to you. This does not give us ownership of personal information contained in a support message, which is handled under our Privacy Policy.

10 Children and caregiver responsibility

Toddle does not ask children to create accounts, make purchases, communicate with other users or upload public content. The caregiver remains responsible for choosing stories, supervising device use and discussing content with the child as appropriate. Interactive and read-aloud features are designed to support reading experiences; they do not guarantee a particular learning, literacy, behavioural or emotional outcome.

11 App Store terms

Apple's standard EULA governs the iOS app licence. Apple's purchase terms and mandatory usage rules apply to downloads and purchases. These Toddle Terms govern our related service, content, accounts and subscription access, subject to those rules and your mandatory consumer rights. Subscription Family Sharing is not enabled at launch.

12 Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains caregiver accounts, subscription verification, service and security requests, and support communications. The current release does not include optional story-engagement measurement. Settings and reading progress remain on-device. The policy is available in the adult area and through our website at toddlelearning.app/privacy. Accepting these Terms or subscribing does not itself give consent to optional processing where separate consent is required.

13 Availability updates and changes to content

We aim to keep Toddle available and functioning, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed. Availability may be affected by maintenance, device compatibility, internet access, store services, security incidents or events outside our reasonable control.

We may update the app or stories for features, accessibility, safety, security or compatibility and add new stories to the catalog. The three bundled free stories remain free. If a story must be withdrawn because of a legal, safety or rights issue, we will explain any material effect and provide any remedy required by law. Changes to the premium library will not be used to avoid providing the essential paid service you purchased. Where required, we will give reasonable notice and explain cancellation or other remedies.

14 Support and maintenance

For help with Toddle or account recovery, contact hello@toddlelearning.app. Apple does not provide Toddle’s app support. Apple-account, payment-method and store-billing issues may need to be handled through Apple’s support service.

15 Consumer rights and warranties

We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable consumer law. The app and digital content should be as described, fit for their stated purpose and of satisfactory quality where those legal standards apply.

Because software and digital services depend on devices, operating systems and networks that we do not control, we do not promise that Toddle will always be available, compatible with every device, or free from every minor error. These practical limitations do not reduce any mandatory statutory guarantee or remedy available to you.

16 Our responsibility

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of rights that consumer law does not permit us to exclude.

If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of that failure or of our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, for a failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for business losses arising from personal use of Toddle.

You should take reasonable steps to protect your device and account. We are not responsible for unauthorised purchases caused by your failure to secure store or device controls, except where the law says otherwise.

17 Suspension termination and account deletion

You may stop using Toddle at any time. You can delete the caregiver account in the adult area without waiting for an active subscription to expire. Deleting the account or app does not cancel Apple billing: review Manage Subscription if you also want renewal to stop. Completed deletion ends new account-based authorization and clears usable premium access on the initiating device. Other devices lose account access when they learn of deletion; an already-offline device may retain its previously verified access only until its existing offline deadline. RevenueCat subscription records are not automatically erased by the current account-deletion process, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Restoration after deletion is not guaranteed.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, fraud, security risk, legal requirement or misuse that may harm Toddle or others. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Suspension or termination does not remove any refund or other right required by law.

18 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Service, our business or the law changes. We will publish the revised Terms and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights or an active paid subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice and, where required, ask for agreement or explain how to cancel. Changes will not operate retrospectively to remove rights already accrued.

19 Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country. Please contact hello@toddlelearning.app so we can try to resolve a concern. Contacting us first does not prevent you from using any statutory complaint process or bringing proceedings where the law permits.

If you are a consumer living in England or Wales, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or another country, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts and rely on mandatory protections under the law of your country. Nothing in these Terms takes away those rights.

20 General terms

If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation only where this does not reduce your rights; we will notify you where required. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent, except where applicable law allows it.

These Terms and the purchase terms displayed by Apple govern your use and purchase of Toddle. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled; it does not replace any separate consent required by law. No person other than you, Toddle Learning and any beneficiaries under Apple’s separate app licence has a right to enforce these Terms, except where the law provides otherwise.
